Our Story First opened in 1891 McKeowns Fish Shop is Bangor’s oldest established businesss. Sean McKeown’s grandfather James opened the shop which then passed onto his son John. Sean is now third generation owner, having entered the family business at the young age of 15 and taking hold of the reins in the 1960’s when his father John passed away. Dating back to 1891 McKeowns on High Street Bangor, oozes that olde worlde ambience. It’s the quintessential picture of old time independent trading with its characteristic Shop front and typical fishmonger interior.
